We are working hard around here....3 more days until summer break!!

One of the highlights of the upcoming summer are my workshops!  The final homework assignment was sent out this morning for June's workshop!  The first assignment will be sent out for August next week!  I have LOVED teaching these workshops!!!  It has been so fun for me to teach photography.  I love helping photography lovers understand their cameras and create beautiful images for their homes and family...capturing details of their own lives!

August 8th is the last workshop I have planned.  I don't believe I will teach them next year...definitely not to the extent I have this year.  There are only two spots left for August.  I will leave them open through the end of the week.  If you are interested please email me:  carindavisphotography@gmail.com!

Yesterday I wanted to make cookies for a friend who had just had surgery. Chocolate chip is always my standby...but I wanted something summery...and to use up my Costco bag of lemons (I LOVE having a Costco bag of lemons!). I wanted Heather's recipe (Heather, Do you have a famous lemon cookie???)...but I didn't want to bug her for it (now I am!) so I began to search the internet...

A lemon search on Smitten Kitchen brought me to this:  Asparagus, goat cheese and lemon pasta.

So I scrapped the salmon burger idea...made this pasta dish for dinner...and chocolate chip cookies for dessert! The kids loved it!  Maybe I can make lemon cookies today....Heather....are you there!???  :)

I love being outside in beautiful weather!  I love plants, flowers and trees!  I love working in the dirt (without gloves...I can't stand them)!  I love seeing what we plant-- GROW!  The details in the garden can help make a house a home.

My girl's favorite details outside this year are potato bugs and picking flower...as soon as they bloom!!

Was I supposed to be capturing details of my home this month???  I have greatly neglected my challenge for May!  I thought I would show you why....it is hard for me to photograph chaos...and that is the natural state of my home these days!  I wont give up entirely.  I did take pictures outside!  I will post them tomorrow!

My monthly challenges are going to take a summer break (most definitely for June).  And now, after seeing this picture you can see why!  I hope to see more pictures from your challenge---but if you aren't up to it, I can totally relate!

Ellie got home from school today...braids falling out, sunkissed cheeks and excitement brimming over. She enjoyed a wonderful day with a great teacher and a classroom full of friends. She told me about what she ate, learned, played and experienced. As I listened, smiling (how could I not smile!?) I thought--- do I HAVE TO SHARE? We have been sharing Ellie for the greater part of our waking hours M-F. I am ready to have her back full time. We are counting down the days to good ol' summertime---and I can't wait!
